Greyhounds looking for homes

new arrivals/returns will be placed at the end of the list)

Rocky is 5yrs old and a lovely boy who has been in a home, but sadly been returned. He is used to the home environment, house trained and
lived with children. However, he will need socialisation around other breeds and someone who is used to greyhounds/larger breeds.  Could you give Rocky another chance?

Red is 5years old and came to us with Ash (who has now found a home!) and is confident and happy.  He is a cuddly boy who looks slightly older than his years and therefore should also not be overlooked.  He is clean in his kennel and is enjoying the comforts of the blankets. If you can offer Red his special home, do let us know!

Jacko is 4yrs old and another big, but very loving, chap.  He loves a game and is very confident and affectionate.  He should be fine around smaller breeds given the usual initial care (but further testing will be carried out!) He has a distinctive white line on his face which helps us identify him!  He can be quite strong so will need someone with muscles, but this will soon subside once he gets used to regular walks and affection.

Sylvie is 2yrs old and a dear little dog who is nervous at the moment, but hopefully will not take long to come round once she gets to know us.  She is not suited to be homed with young children as a result of her nerves, but will be hoping for a special home that can take her needs into account and work with her until she finds her feet. We will be waiting for the right home for Sylvie.  Sylvie is fine around little dogs and really coming out of her shell.  She will still need someone who understands her particular reactions to things, but she will get there with patience and care.

Jess is 2yrs old and the sister of Sylvie.  She is also quite nervous, but should be fine once she gets to know you  as she has really come out of her shell since being with us.  Could you offer Jess the loving home she deserves? Jess is currently reserved!

Billy is 4yrs old and a dear boy who deserves the chance of a loving home.  He should not be overlooked because he is the same colour as all the others!  He is gentle and affectionate and should be fine around other breeds given the usual initial care. Billy has found a home!

Joe is 2yrs old and a lovely boy who is clean (and tidy!) in his kennel and walks nicely on the lead.  He is happy to interact with the other greyhounds and will make a great addition to any home. Joe is currently reserved!

Zebo is 2yrs old and a little nervous until he gets to know you.  He walks very nicely on the lead, is gentle and calm and really enjoys his food.  He is bound to come out of his shell quickly and we hope the loving home he deserves is just around the corner!

Christopher is 5yrs old and a beautiful boy who has been in a home before.  He would be best suited without young children, but will be fine around other breeds given the usual initial care.  He is house-trained, used to the home environment and came with his own wardrobe (he has to wear HIS coat as he takes all others off!). He has been very well cared for and hopes a warm, comfy bed will be awaiting him in a special home very quickly.

Sarah is 2yrs old and a dear little soul who is good with other breeds and is looking for a loving home.  She looks a bit patchy at the moment with her bald thighs and nose, but this will soon grow back! She will be back on the cat-walk (dog-walk?) before too long!  She is clean in her kennel and loves her food.

Trev is 4yrs old and a lovely boy who is very gentle with the other greyhounds and should be fine around other dogs given the usual initial care.  He is clean in his kennel, happy to share with anyone and loves his food.

Tiny is 2yrs old and has sadly been returned.  He is a petite boy (as you would imagine from his name) and very loving and affectionate.  He is good with other breeds, used to the home environment and happy on the lead.  He would not be suited to anyone who is out at work as he likes to have company.  For this reason, he would be best suited to being homed with another greyhound (or another dog) for company.

Fargo is 3yrs old and is a lovely boy who is very good in the car, has lived with both male and female greyhounds and loves his food.  He is house-trained, used to the home environment, but has sadly been returned because he needs some socialisation around other breeds.  He is sometimes very good and happy to be with smaller dogs; and, at other times, needs to know they are not something to chase.  It won't take him long to understand! He would really love another home quickly as he is used to being at home and doesn't want to be shut up in a kennel for a long time.

Blue is a very friendly boy who is outgoing, confident and loves a cuddle.  He is so enthusiastic to go out that he bounces around whilst you get the lead on him, but once he is out and about, he is very easy to handle on the lead and will make a great addition to any home.  He loves his food, is clean in his kennel and would really appreciate a comfortable sofa to call his own!  However, there are no prizes for guessing what colour he is! Blue is currently reserved!

Mel has sadly been returned.  She would love another home quickly as she is now used to the home environment.  She is a very small girl and walks nicely on the lead.  She has been to dog-socialisation classes with her adopters, but will need some care around smaller dogs until she is totally used to them as she is mainly ok, but will need care at times especially when little dogs are off the lead.  She was originally cat tested, but for the first time in all the years we have been testing, her reaction totally changed once she got home and she is not to be homed with cats.  It is not clear why she initially was frightened of the cat, but her reaction shifted so dramatically.  Nevertheless, this was the only reason that she is being returned so she would be ideal for someone with another greyhound at home or as an only dog.  She is great with children, having lived with two children for nearly three weeks. She is a playful girl and very friendly and affectionate. Could you give Mel a chance?

Dilly has sadly been returned after a change of circumstances for her owners.  She is 3yrs old and was originally slightly nervous when she first came, but comes out of her shell quickly once she gets to know you.  She is used to the home environment, good with other breeds and is also good with cats (with the usual initial careful introductions). Dilly has found a home!

Tatum is 3yrs old and has been spending weekends at home with her racing owner.  Sadly, she cannot live there permanently so it is time she found a loving home where she can put her feet up and be pampered.

Willie is a lovely boy who has come into us from another kennels.  He has been living in a foster home for 5yrs with other greyhounds.  He is house-trained and used to the home environment.  He is good with other greyhounds but needs a bit of work around other breeds.  He has an eye condition which requires daily drops - and corns which need filing down to help his pads.  Willie has found a home!

Sparky is 5yrs old and a happy soul who was known as "stumpy" to his trainer because of his short tail!  This only adds to his character and makes him unique!  He loves his food, should be fine around other breeds with the usual initial care and loves the other greyhounds too.

Jane is 11yrs old and has sadly been returned after 8yrs in a home.  We are desperately hoping a new home will come along quickly as we do not want her to become stressed in kennels.  She is very gentle on the lead ("you don't know you've got her" was the response of one of our volunteer walkers today)... and is good with other breeds.  Please email for further information to get this poor soul back out of kennels quickly. Jane has found a home! (Thank you so much - she has really fallen on her paws!)

Fairy is 4yrs old and is sharing with Stanley so would be glad to go home with another greyhound. She is friendly and outgoing and enjoying the comforts of the blankets.  She would love a home of her own now her racing days are over so she can relax and enjoy the adventures of life beyond kennels.

Stanley is 7yrs old and a lovely gentle boy who happily shares his kennel with the female greyhounds and loves a cuddle.  He seems to have waited a while before getting into the rehoming kennels so it would be lovely if he could go to a loving home quickly and not have to wait too long with us before his own sofa comes along!
