Greyhounds looking for homes

new arrivals/returns will be placed at the end of the list)

Rocky is 6yrs old and a lovely boy who has been in a home, but sadly been returned. He is used to the home environment, house trained and
lived with children. However, he will need socialisation around other breeds and someone who is used to greyhounds/larger breeds.  Could you give Rocky another chance?

Red is 6 years old and came to us with Ash (who has found a home!) and is confident and happy.  He is a cuddly boy who looks slightly older than his years and therefore should also not be overlooked.  He is clean in his kennel and is enjoying the comforts of the blankets. If you can offer Red his special home, do let us know!  Red had a three month trip to Cambridgeshire where he was involved in a scheme organised by the Greyhound Trust in which prisoners look after three greyhounds.  He thrived in their care and was in beautiful condition on his return to us.  He really hopes his special home is round the corner now he is back.

Sylvie is 2yrs old and a dear little dog who is nervous at the moment, but hopefully will not take long to come round once she gets to know us.  She is not suited to be homed with young children as a result of her nerves, but will be hoping for a special home that can take her needs into account and work with her until she finds her feet. We will be waiting for the right home for Sylvie.  Sylvie is fine around little dogs and really coming out of her shell.  She will still need someone who understands her particular reactions to things, but she will get there with patience and care.

Christopher is 5yrs old and a beautiful boy who has been in a home before.  He would be best suited without young children, but will be fine around other breeds given the usual initial care.  He is house-trained, used to the home environment and came with his own wardrobe (he has to wear HIS coat as he takes all others off!). He has been very well cared for and hopes a warm, comfy bed will be awaiting him in a special home very quickly.
Christopher had a three month trip to Cambridgeshire where he was involved in a scheme organised by the Greyhound Trust in which prisoners look after three greyhounds.  He was in splendid condition upon his return and surely someone will snap him up now!

Stanley is 7yrs old and a lovely gentle boy who happily shares his kennel with the female greyhounds and loves a cuddle.  He seems to have waited a while before getting into the rehoming kennels so it would be lovely if he could go to a loving home quickly and not have to wait too long with us before his own sofa comes along!

Freddie is 3yrs old and came in with Foxy.  He is a calm and confident chap who is happy to share with other greyhounds and will be taken on a 'town trip' to be tested away from the kennel environment.  He is a lovely boy who should not be overlooked as 'another black dog'.  We think black is best! He is also easy to handle on the lead and spotlessly clean in his kennel. Freddie has found a home!

Joe is 3yrs old and has sadly been returned after much soul searching.  He was perfect indoors, loves his food and walks nicely on the lead.  He will make a wonderful addition to any home, but he would not be suited to someone who goes out to work.  Therefore, if you are retired or work from home, he would be ideal! He can live happily with another greyhound and really deserves a loving home quickly so he is not stuck in kennels for too long.  Joe had a three month trip to Cambridgeshire where he was involved in a scheme organised by the Greyhound Trust in which prisoners look after three greyhounds.  He was immaculate when he returned to us and is hoping he will not be stuck in kennels too long now he has been used to individual attention.

Tina is 4yrs old and a vibrant soul who loves a cuddle and is also well behaved around other breeds given the usual initial precautions.  She is slightly strong on the lead but this will soon decrease as she gets used to going out and about more often. She is spotlessly clean in her kennel and is happily sharing with Kane.

Chief is a handsome boy who came in with Molly (below).  He should not be overlooked as he is a happy, outgoing chap who was excited to come into Whittingham so should take life beyond kennels as a big adventure.  He loves everyone and his tail hasn't stopped wagging. He is even wagging his tail in his photograph (despite being tied to the door to keep him still!).  He is happily sharing with Molly so will be fine as an only dog or with the company of other greyhounds.  He will be tested with other breeds as soon as possible.

Tatum has sadly been returned.. This was her original photograph from when she first arrived. Tatum would love another home quickly as she is used to the home environment.  She is spotlessly clean indoors and very loving and affectionate.  She will need careful handling around other breeds until she understands fully that these are 'dogs'. Otherwise, she is a great girl who really needs a loving home.

Betty is 5yrs old and another happy soul who loves everyone! She will adjust very quickly to life at home and will be a great addition to any family.  She will be tested around smaller animals as soon as possible, but should be fine around smaller breeds as she was used to seeing a small dog at her previous kennels.  (She looks a little contorted in the photograph as she decided to wrap the lead around herself! But it kept her still to take the picture)!

Babe is a very sweet girl who shows how the black greyhounds should not be overlooked! She is full of personality and loves cuddles.  She will be great for a family with children or a wonderful addition to any home.  Whoever has her will be very lucky indeed.

Lucky is 8yrs old and has sadly been returned.  He will be familiar to our visitors as we looked after him for a few months earlier in the year.  He is a very affectionate and gentle soul who loves a cuddle and is spotlessly clean in his kennel.  He is house-trained and used to the home environment.  He will have a dental before he goes to his next home, but we are hoping a new home will come along quickly as he doesn't want to spend too long in kennels again, especially as the colder weather starts to kick in.  If you can offer Lucky a home, please let us know and make his name come true!

Kimmie is 2yrs old and a gentle girl who is good around other breeds and very loving.  She thought she would pose amidst our new pot plants so she would stand out from the crowd!  She is spotlessly clean in her kennel and loves her cuddly toy elephant! Will you be the lucky one who could give Kimmie a loving home?

Puma is 3yrs old and a happy girl who loves a cuddle.  She is happy to be around the other greyhounds and would love a comfortable sofa to call her own!

Toby is a petite boy with a very Egyptian-Pharaoh (hound) look about him!  He says this is because of his royal connections, but he will need someone with patience and kindness who can be his new mummy (see what I did there!) because he is nervous until he gets to know you.  We ran a nile (!) to get him in from the paddock when he first arrived but he will soon come round once he trusts you.  That is what me sphinx, anyway!  He is a lovely boy who will really bond with you once he gets to know you. Could you offer him the caring home he deserves? Toby has found a home!

Katie is 4yrs old and came in with Toby.  She is a friendly, happy girl who should quickly settle into a home environment.  She will be introduced to other breeds as soon as possible and is hoping her new home is just around the corner. Katie has found a home!

Flash is a handsome chap and quite petite for a male greyhound.  He is good on the leads, should be fine around other breeds with the usual care and is clean in his kennel.  He is a happy chap who likes to give you a cuddle and he is unlikely to be with us too long! Could you be the lucky one to adopt Flash? Flash is currently reserved!

Suzie is 5yrs old and a gentle soul who becomes very loving as she gets to know you.  She is good around other breeds and was described by her trainer as 'the perfect pet'. Suzie has found a home!

Jimmy is a dear soul who has a lovable face and would really like to find a loving home to call his own.  He is friendly, happy and confident and will soon settle down once he gets into a routine.  Could you offer Jimmy a special home?

Lordy came in with Jimmy and took the transition into the rehoming kennels in his stride! He has been 'down to the town' and will be fine with other breeds given the usual initial care.  He is good with the other greyhounds and clean in his kennel.  He has a couple of white spots which are unusual and has, in this photograph, declared himself Lord of the hosepipe. Do consider this lovely dog if you are thinking of offering a greyhound a home. Lordy has found a home!

Clarky has sadly been returned.  He is a lovely, friendly affectionate dog and would be best suited to someone who works from home or is retired.  He will be retested around smaller breeds as soon as possible but loves his food and loves all the adventures of life beyond kennels. He is good around the other greyhounds and hopes he will soon find a sofa to call his own!

Buddy is a beautiful dog and this photograph does not do him justice! He has lived in a home before (not as a result of a homing from us at Whittingham) so he should be used to the home environment.  He is great around little dogs and should adjust to any home quickly as he is quiet in the kennels and good with everyone!

Bertie is a handsome boy with slight white flecks in his black coat which distinguishes him from all the others! He is confident and happy and spotlessly clean in his kennel.  He should make a great addition to any home and loves his walks and cuddles.
